Good day Pro's,
I hope this issue is not an issue at all, but I have been going to the back-end of my site over the past week and when I access "Components" "JomSocial" and then land on the JomSocial Control Panel, I have been seeing a lot of new members, not confirmed. What's unusual about this ate the usernames and email addresses. I understand that anyone can create any username they choose, but these are in some type of un-random pattern in my opinion. Also, the email addresses seem to be the same. It looks to me like someone had developed something that creates new accounts. Please just look a this and let me know what you think.

Thank you for contacting us.
By default user that registers in JomSocial needs to confirm their email by clicking link in email they received after registration.
If they didn't confirmed their account it could mean:

- they didn't received email - landed on spam or mistyped email was used
- email provided during registration is not real

I bet on this second option, probably bots are registering users on your site but they can't confirm account as email is fake. So just delete those accounts.

To prevent this in future - try to enable ReCaptcha in Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> Configuration -> Registration and provide ReCaptcha keys.


- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
