Since we have option to define new Profile type with Joomla group as parameter, does that mean that adding user to Joomla User group makes same user member of defined JomSocial Custom Profile? Existing DOCS does not show, neither describes, that function/option.

When user registers he choose a profile. Profile is assigned to a Joomla! groups. So registration assign him to a certain Profile and a group in the same time. If you add user manually, you'll need to assign him to J! group and to profile separately.
