Registration fails if username contains underscore
Facing the fact that the ticket system has been disabled, I wonder if my ticket is still alive. I have let you know by ticket that registration of new members fails if the username contains an underscore, for example "D_Miller". Users in return get a fatal error message.
I checked the database and saw that the registration details are written into table "community_register", but are not forwarded to table "community_users" or joomla "users". As a consequence of this no information about registration of new users is available from the Jomsocial dashboard.
And as the email is stored in "community_register" users cannot re-register. They are told that the email account already exists.
Thank you for contacting us.
Issues like that require to provide your site credentials. Please, edit your first post and provide them.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Please note that the (fatal) error happens during registration.
Just try to register and in the username use underscore, such as D_Miller. When you try to go the next page, you will get a fatal error.
Thank you. I tested registration on your site and result was as follows:

I assign developer to investigate this further.
