ISSUE SUMMARY:
Hello,

I ran into some problems:

Missing "commented on a photo" notification; just blank field with date

"liked your stream"; the link stream is wrong

Can't edit/translate the notifications text


I've attached two images. On the first image the arrows show the blank field where has to be "commented on a photo" notification. On the second - the wrong link.

I see that you use Russian language pack. Please, switch to English and check if issue persist.
It may be that your language file is outdated or incomplete.


- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.

- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job

- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michał,
I've switched to English but there are no changes, still looks messy. Now everything's in English except the notifications text.

Switching to English is not enough - try to repeat your action so new notification is created.
The one you see are SAVED in database. You need to generate new ones - try it when English is enabled.

That worked. How can I fix this and apply to the Russian language pack?

HI, Vector.

That means your Russian language pack is outdated.
You need to located text from that activity in English in English language file to get a language constant.
Then using Joomla! language override add it to Russian language.

You may look straight in ini language at ROOT/languages/en-GB/com_community.ini or use Joomla! language override feature and seek in English first ( you may switch languages at left column).

Ok thanks. I fixed that. The point is that the Russian language pack has a lot of mistakes. As for the old notifications. You said they're saved in database. Can I delete them manually? Also, I need to change the default album title but can't do this becuase it's using the old translated version.

Yes, you may delete previous activities here Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> Monitor -> Activities.
You may try to use language overrode again to change album default title (but I'm not sure if this is not hardcoded... a system requirement).
By default JomSocial is provided in English.
All other localizations are contributed by Community.
Thus we can't guarantee completeness or correctness of those translations.
