I need to add the send message next to the add friend button in demo.jomsocial.com/friends.html

Is it possible to do that via configuration?
If not could someone point me in the right direction?

I know you get the send message button in the hovercard when you hover the avatar however that is not very intuitive and people are finding it difficult to send a message.

this is not possible, if you wanna achive this you need hack the code and I am sorry this modification is bit tricky, we cant help you for this.
