Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
Can you please advise me on the best way to use the Jomsocial toolbar in standard joomla module positions.
I need to use Joomla articles/blogs and modules in my clients site. But I would prefer to use only the toolbar and no other menu. I have used the Jomsocial toolbar module but I am having problems with styling it. I have used @import to bring the jomsocial style.css in to my default style sheet but it still will not style correctly.
Thank you for contacting us.
I noticed that you already found a solution using KNU extension.
Good to hear that. Please contact with extension developer if you'll need further assistance.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
So can you please provide an answer to my question below?

First I need to clear a bit: there is difference between JomSocial Toolbar menu and JomSocial Toolbar module.
JomSocial Toolbar menu is a menu used for internal component navigation and it's not a module. So you can't assign it to other non-JomSocial pages. It displays JomSocial navigation menu along with some quick access icons. It's displayed inside component only. JomSocial Toolbar module is a module so you may assign it to any module position. But it displays quick access icons, search field, avatar and user name along with some quick links... but no navigation menu.
You may also customize
JomSocial Toolbar module to display emnu but it would be rather a hard way.
