ISSUE SUMMARY:
I cannot login to jomsocial. It does work if I login using facebook

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Go to login page.
2 Type in user name and password,
3 Click login button

RESULT
Returns to home page and I am not logged in. It works if I login using Facebook.

EXPECTED RESULT
Logged in and on Profile Edit screen.

It is working now. I think my plugins were incorrectly configured. I wanted the jfbconnect facebook login and the native login to have the same result of landing on the edit profile page after login and the site home page after logout. It is doing that now.

This is what I ended up doing:

System - Core Login Redirect is Disabled
System - Jomsocial Redirect Enabled Set to Redirect to Edit Profile at login and go to home at logout
System - Redirect Enabled (not sure if this has any impact)
Authentication - jfbconnect social integration enabled

Configured jfbconnect component so that new and returning users are directed to edit profile at login. I'm not sure how it knows to go to the home page at logout, but it is doing that.

I still have a separate ticket open regarding an issue with the profile edit screen not defaulting to Information. But you can close this one.
