Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
Hi, I have 2 different type of users coming to my site, customers and suppliers. Suppliers are able to create content and customers are not.
I need to create a page for people that want to flick through for example suppliers and inquire about their product.
Or a supplier flick through the customers (users) and be able to send them a message.
I am not sure if it is best to use profile types or 2 groups only (user - supplier)
I would then have a page called ' Connect' where 2 different type of users can connect. in that page I would have the 2 profile types/groups, when the user click one of them they go to a page that lists all users with that type/group but at the top they have the ability to filter by location.
Could someone help me go to the right path and let me know if it is achievable?
Thank you for contacting us.
I think that best way will be to use different profile types (Multiple profile JS feature) for Suppliers and customers.
Then you may use this extensions to allow advanced members search:
extensions.joomla.org/extension/xius-for-jomsocial
Currently there are only limited options for users ACL - as you want that only certain profile type could create content or send PMs.
Then this extensions could be also helpful:
