do you mean you want to filter by specific value, so it will disappear from activity stream for all users?
sorry it cant. jomsocial not able to do that.

No. I want to remove the code that makes the bar appear at the top of the activity stream. I want to simplify the interface as much as possible and that is something I can do without.
