And can I just use your status/post box in some other component?

#1 by default that is forbidden, we restrict any html code..actaully we make it to avoid any hijack code on your site.
#2 I am sorry we dont have API for update status

If you wanna this feature you need hire 3rd party developer and hack jomsocial code.

I have read the stream api and used it as well can you show me more examples of it.
And in the Wall System it says i can add comments from 3rd part component how do i get the unique id can you please elaborate more on it.

#3 to add html code and link on the stream you can put it on content variable, you can add it like this :

I have a directory component where we can write reviews for company i want to post that review as a status
For now I am using Stream Api,I have written a plugin to for achieving.Is this the right way to do it?
If i want to add images to the status/post from the plugin.
can i do something like this

Bit tricky if you wanna put image on the stream, it can be impossible, our stream API only provide the simple stream post..the easiest way is add the img html code inside content variable like I mentioned above :)

no, if you want you can use image from another source, its hard if you wanna implement with jomsocial photos, because we dont have the API for it
