Dear support team (and other JS members),

This is not JS related though i really, really hope you can help me out with a solution for this problem.

My website previously was only exclusive for validated members. Members that i or my team checked by a webcam screening. However.... i need to start making my website more commercial, if i atleast want to try to cover the basic costs with my subscription base.

So.... i am making my website more public with a direct registration. However... i still wish to give the members the option to become a validated member so that other members can see instantly that they are talking to a real member instead of a "catfish"/ fake member. So my thought was to put a big green check-icon on the profile of the user, maybe in a module to show that this member is checked by our beloved teammembers.

At this point al checked members are put into a VIP usergroup within Joomla.

My question...... Can anybody give us a direction into how to code a script that checkes if the user is in a VIP-usergroup?

Really hope you can help me out with this.... Thanks in advance!

Hi,

here the docs about that:
docs.joomla.org/JFactory/getUser
docs.joomla.org/Accessing_the_current_user_object
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Developers_Documentation

that docs only for basic thing. you need to build your own code. jomsocial support cant do it, because that beyond of jomsocial support.

Regards
