Jomsocial documentation says that if a set a custom field as invisible It won´t appear on profile edit page, but it won´t also appear as searchable field.

What I need to know is if there is a turn around to make a custom field invisible in edition page, but keeping it searchable.

I need that becasuse I made a custom edit page to these fields because they have specific validation rules.

You can edit and override this file components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/search.advancedsearch.php, find and remove this code :
