by using SFTP I only can read the files. buat cannot make any changes.

what files are you trying to write? I did a test with your users... and you belong to the same owner of the files (www-data) so you can do any changes on that folders and files...

can you be more specific please? (what folders or files?)

as you can see, if I tried to changing that files, the files onwer always changed into victorarango

and got this error message

please check it. I found small bug. there the fix that I put at:
/components/com_community/models/photos.php at line 300 I changing the code from

        $where .= 'AND b.`permissions` IN ('.$permissions.') ';
    }else{
        $where .= ' AND b.`permissions`'
