we're using on our live website JomSocial 3.2.1.5 that is actually working with tigra (for the jomsocial template), jomsocial also cooperates with some other extensions like alpha userpoints, JFBconnect,XIPT profile type and some others, we touched little things to the jomsocial code (in the events and groups php pages and some others) to make it work as we want for the services that we offer.

We're working on the upgrade to the latest version of jomsocial on a separate domain (used only for tests) so that webapp can't interact with our live website.

We have a problem in the profile page

when the profile owner becomes friend with someone has got an activity in the wall of the profile page, an activity where there is written “YOU and ‘ANOTHER_USER’ are now friends”, the link in that activity doesn’t work.

As you can see loggin-in and going in the profile page at this activity if you click on the nickname of your new friend you get a blank page, that’s because the link doesn’t include the domain in the url.

How can we fix this issue?

We trusted that upgrading to the latest jomsocial version we had the fix, but we are facing the same problem also on the development platform with the jomsocial4 that we’re using to test that everything will work for our services on the live site .

actually is not reachable from the internet, i can make it for tomorrow, but in the meanwhile do you have ideas about what's the problem?

usually caused by old stream, which it doesnt support with the latest version.. for making sure i need to test directly

ok i'll make this possible, but i need a bit, for the moment there is a way to hide this activity from users profile pages?

you can delete the stream item from backend administrator/index.php?option=com_community&view=activities

waiting for a solution for a development version of the website that you can reach to help us to fix this problem i have to say that i found this file:

components/com_community/views/profile/view.html.php that i think contains also the instruction of a "new friend activity".

Where i can find the code that i have to hide until we'll find a solution? annext to this email i put the php file that i found in the directory said above.

Like I said before, to achived the old stream you should manage it from administrator/index.php?option=com_community&view=activities, if that stream is coming from old stream (version < 3.2) this is cant be fixed, since the API stream already changed.

we're working on some things before the upgrading of jomsocial to the latest release, the version that we're using now is the 3.2.1.5 (so is not >3.2)

we really need to fix the issue that i explained above before that we'll have the opportunity to upload on-line on our main domain our platform with the latest version of jomsocial, i sent to you (by a private message in the community www.jomsocial.com/community/ ) all the instructions to have access to a copy of the website that we've online at the current state.

please let me know which files or settings you're going to modify so i will do the same on the live website,

well, the stream from old jomsocial version activities can't be fixed, because we use different format and API. Before we release the newest API our another customer already argeed with this issue.
