Advanced Search not working after update

ISSUE SUMMARY:
Advanced Search was working fine until last week before updating.
Today I tried searching for users using the advanced search, search criteria by country.
It takes me to the homepage saying I need to login (unauthorized type of message ).

I am able to go to the advanced search, I am able to select the criteria but when I hit search is when I am redirected and asked to login.

I just updated again to 4.1.3 and still getting the same issue.

Please advise.
Thanks.

Hi Dimas,
My Advanced search menu is set to public. I don't think this is the problem though. As I mentioned I am able to access the advanced search page, I AM ABLE to select the criteria. The problem occurs when I click submit.

Hi Sarah,

You should upload this issue into the live server first, so I can debug this..

thank you

Hi Dimas,
I can't it still a long way.

It was working before the update, I tested it with the default joomla protostar and I get the same error.

What could be the possible causes you can think of?
It was working fine before

I dont know the detail, since I need debug it directly.. this issue usually caused by menu stucture, some of your menus maybe set for registered only

Ok, I finally made some progress on this.
And the main thing still I don't know why it stopped working.

Before I didn't have a menu item for the Jomsocial of the type Community->HOME, because I DONT need it.

But since the update it seems to me that I must have a Jomsocial Home in order for the Advanced search to work.

So here is the problem. I don't need a Jomsocial Home,
1- why I didn't need one before and now I must have one?
This is an issue for me because I don't want users to see a jomsocial frontpage as I don't have anything to put on it.
2 - Can I set the default jomsocial HOME, to be any other page I have in my site? For example my website's homepage.

Please note, the only reason I ask the questions above is to solve the may issue of this post. So I believe it is absolute correct to ask those questions here as they are a result of a change in the way the extension works.

Thanks

yes this is possible, but for the good solution move the jomsocial home page to another menu type, I am sure currently the menu inside menu type "main menu", I suggest you crate new menu type "hidden menu" and put the jomsocial home page menu there

That is what I have done. Even though I set it to no index, no follow I am afraid it might get indexed. Or somehow users may land on it.

What would be the other solution?
