Jomsocial Registration email activation broken

Hi,
I am testing the jomsocial, I am able to register all fine but when the email of the account activation seems to be broken.

The activation link has something like that <a href=_QQQ before the address. Obviously the link wont work.
But also when I try to copy the link to my browser it says invalid token.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hi,
I am sorry to be back to this post but even after updating I am still having the same problem.

I just clicked to check for updates and I am running on the latest, 4.1.3

I tested the registration and when I click the link it comes back as invalid token. My template comes up with _QQQ_ before the link

Your account is created and must be activated before you can log in.
To activate the account, click on the following link or copy-&-paste it in your browser:
<a href=_QQQ_http:/
I copied the link and pasted into the browser, I am then taken to the login page. But the user is never activated.

Please provide a fix. It is in a local server therefore I can't share the link.

Thanks.

Edit.: Copying the link does activate the account. It seems to me it is just the template generated that has _QQQ_ screwing up the link.
Please provide a fix.

Hi Sarah,

Please edit this file language/en-GB/en-GB.com_community.ini, find this code :

it in your browser:\n\t<a href=_QQQ_%3$s_QQQ_>%3$s</a>

replace to :
it in your browser:\n\t<a href='%3$'>%3$s</a>

I hope it will work.

The second option worked. Thanks.

Why are we having this problem? Do you know?

Also, can I choose the page the user will be redirected to after they clicked in the link to activate the account?

Hi Sarah,

Sometimes that issue is happening on several site, I dont know why.. but that solution is enough if this issue happens.

You should hack this file components/com_community/controllers/register.php, change this code :

'index.php?option=com_users&view=login',

and if you wanna set the redirect to jomsocial home page, change to :
'index.php?option=com_community',

I suggest if you wanna change the redirection, please dont use this hack, but use Jomsocial redirect plugin instead, but with that plugin only will work after you login, not after activation

thank you
