Hi,
please make sure you are using jomsocial 4.1.1
I moved this topic to technical support category. all active licensee must put technical support for "support".
at that category support staff can go deeply to your site. because customer must put credentials information at there.
please edit your first post at this topic, and put credentials information at site info (private)

Sorry for the long delay in replying - was off-business.
We are using 4 fields with type "country":
- FIELD_CITIZENSHIP
- FIELD_CITIZENSHIP2
- FIELD_COUNTRY - For the Home country
- FIELD_WORKCOUNTRY - For the Work country
As for the empty ones, it is because before the data stored was the country name, now it is a code like "COM_COMMUNITY_LANG_NAME_FRANCE", I made the correction for some countries only for the moment (US, UK, France, Germany)
Hi,
jomsocial did that "COM_COMMUNITY_LANG_NAME_FRANCE" for bug fixes that related with multi languages purpose.
I suggest you to asking all site members to edit they profile information to make correction for "country", because that fixes many site members got no value on that related fields.
Regards
Sorry I was not very clear in my previous answer.
I did the change via the jomsocial Profile page on one of my test accounts. I select a country in the citizenship field using the country list provided, but when I search via the advanced search function with another test account, being a friend of the first one, I have no answer.
Would it be related to the language ? I have no language other than English installed on my website.
Thank you.
Hi,
please upgrade to jomsocial 4.1.3
or apply this fix:
edit /components/com_community/models/search.php at line 688
change the code from
if($obj->fieldType == 'country'){if($obj->fieldType == 'country' && strpos($obj->value,'COM_COMMUNITY_LANG_NAME_') === false){
Thank you for your answer.
I applied the Jomsocial 4.1.3 upgrade, but it didn't fix my problem. Worse it crashed my JS backoffice layout (see attachment) - shall I open a new ticket ?
Then I did edit the search.php file as explained and even after applied the upgrade to 4.1.3 the code was still not as the one you are suggesting for the fix. So I changed it with your proposed code and "tada" it worked !
It looks like the fix is not included in your upgrade to 4.1.3. I wonder how it is possible that I am the only one asking for that ?
Thank for the trick for fixing this issue. I will keep it as a hot topic and make sure that the next upgrade will not bring us back the problem.
Hi,
for advanced search issue, some customers reported it. the fixes will be included at 4.1.4
for backend issue, please open new topic for that. not sure whats wrong, there no ACE files template loaded at backend.
please providing FTP access detail at that new topic. put it at site info form (private)
