edit /plugins/system/jomsocial.system/pc_includes/ajax.php line 574, changing it from

if( $list[0] !== 'register' && $list[0] !== 'connect' && $list[1] !== 'ajaxUpdate' && $list[1] !== 'ajaxGetLoginFormToken')

if( $list[0] !== 'register' && $list[0] !== 'frontpage' && ( $list[0] !== 'connect' && $list[1] !== 'ajaxUpdate' ) && ( $list[0] !== 'activities' && $list[1] !== 'ajaxGetRecentActivitiesCount' ) )

to avoid popup window login to see members (module) and the photos activity Stream?

I cannot login to your site. the login detail that provided at site info is not valid.
we cant remove that popup login. because that needed for AJAX request.
