what is the easiest way to add an "hello word" string to a stream user, knowing his id?
is there any public method that I can call?

Hi, Michele.

Please, read our API documentation: documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Stream_API_v2

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

I've seen that but seems too complicated, I don't want to create a plugin, just simply add a string in the stream. But anyway if there's no other way I'll read it carefully

I've created the plugin as in your example and add the CActivityStream::add($act); code in a static method.
My question is: now how I can call that public static method from my code in another plugin?

Hi, Michele.

I'm sorry but we don't support developing requests.
Issue you have is related with php coding skills.
I advise you to post on stackoverflow.com/ or any php coding web group/forum.

Please, read our Support Policy.

After second thought you may try to add your string directly into stream post - that is creating override for files here:

ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/stream e.g status.php

How to create overrides: documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Customizing_Template
