Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
I know there several steps if it comes to user registration. So far I have created a profile. After fill in all the required fields user proceed to step (2) uploading avatar profile picture. Here it comes to a problem in my site. Looks like the picture is uploading fine. But you will not see anything. No change in avatar view. Of course you could skip to the next step, but I tested in JomSocial Community where it works fine.
Could it be possible that in root directory I do not have all the folders switch to cmod correctly? It is probably just a little thing I have to take care of. But for now I have no idea?
Please, try with Joomla! default template Protostar.
I saw that you removed it. Please, install it again.
This post explains how: ttps://www.jomsocial.com/forum/profile-universal-features/26721-javescript-icons-in-profile-page-not-working#130987
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
I have tried to reinstall the default template Protostar. It made no difference in function of the registration. I have also tried to reinstall and override JomSocial which also made no difference.
I assigned Templates in different ways nothing worked out. Avatar change works fine once I operate in JomCocial Toolbar. I guess in my case passing the registration leads to unusual results. I’m not shure if the cmod settings in root directory set up appropriate? Also image folder settings in root perhaps lead to conflicts.
So what options do I have left to get things going?
Hi Michael
, the problem with avatar upload is solved. After trying for hours re-install the complete website I tested on parallel servers with only installed jomsocial and template. There were only (2) files in menu bar set to “registered”. I switched files to “public “. That in fact was the solution. Now everything works fine.
