Hi,
Is it possible to disable the user ability to choose their own settings and preferences?
Could I set this in some sort of global settings and then the accounts just inherit those settings and user is not able to change their own?

Thanks.

Hi, Sarah.

Yes, you may set privacy settings globally: prntscr.com/8bnq03
But you can't disable user privacy settings (that in a fact will override global settings). Then you'll be able only to reset user privacy.

You may try to set global privacy and remove user settings options by customizing that file:
ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/profile.privacy.php
Do an override for it.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michal,
Thanks but I found a quicker solution.
For future reference and if someone is looking for this, I just used a menu modules to output the 'JomSocial Menu' and then also used the JS Notifications Module assigned to the same position.

And this is pretty much it. You can manipulate the modules chome and kind combine the 2 modules or simply use css to create a look that resembles the Toolbar.
