ISSUE SUMMARY:
Several JomSocial elements are missing in different browsers:
1. In profile view, the profile image/avatar is missing in Chrome browser. Shows up everywhere else (I think).
2. The "post something" text-box is missing in Opera, both on own wall and on community wall.
3. All joms-icons are missing in Explorer 9. Also the pre-text inside the text-boxes is missing.
4. Socialize toolbar looses both look and function in Explorer 9.
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Visit pages logged in with different browsers.
RESULT
EXPECTED RESULT
As far as I know, Firefox renders the site as wished, and can be used as reference.
BROWSER
Errors in Opera, Chrome and Explorer.
Edit: Can't find where to put site and login info, is this only available after you answer?
Hi Trude,
Please you edit your first post here
www.jomsocial.com/index.php?option=com_k...d=28777&mesid=140171
and provide me the backend access, and FTP access.. I also need the screenshoot each of issue as well.
thank you
There was no area for credentials in the first post (? - I'll try again), but you will find them in the link at the end of this post.

please you try again www.jomsocial.com/index.php?option=com_k...d=28777&mesid=140171 , I think you can add the backend and FTP right now.
Hi Trude,
Thank you I can access it now.
Most of your issue caused by socialize, please you update your socialize to the latest version first.. I hope it will be fine there.
thank you
Most? Which are and which are not? And can you point me in the right direction so I can have a look?
You see, I did purcase Socialize 2 and upgraded, but the upgrade totally ruined the design (hours and hours of work, the look was totally different - even fonts, colors, sizes and so on with "same theme"), so if there's any chance to fix these few issues without doing the upgrade I would be very happy.
Hi Trude,
Actually the old socialize version is designed for old Jomsocial version, so some of feature wont work, especially with layout on several browser.. the latest jomsocial version only will work perfectly on the latest socialize version. Anyway, did you modify or override jomsocial files? because it looks different for me
thank you
I've changed css, yes, but nothing else. Ok, I'll try the upgrade on test server and see how much work it is.
Is it the template that really slows the site down as well? Not logged in all pages load in <2 seconds, even with many large images and embedded videos, and logged in the page takes >10 seconds (often more) to be ready.
Or is this just a JomSocial thing? Speed? Is it the toolbar that slows it down in other Joomla (non-JomSocial) pages? :)
So, as recommended I upgraded to Socialize 2, and as expected everything is butt ugly. Can you please help me to quickly find where to correctly change the following rather important design issues:
1. height of menu
2. height of community bar
3. width of sidebar 1, main jomsocial, and sidebar 2
4. remove bullets from lists in sidebar
Also: There is still a speed issue when logged in. Site is extremely slow when jomsocial is active, also on non-jomsocial pages. I fully uninstalled socialize and toolbar, upgraded T3, and reinstalled socialize and toolbar. So installations should be pure.
Left to fix:
1. Width of sidebar 1 and main jomsocial. Best practice? When trying to change %'s (bootstrap.css) the content got smaller and stuff disappeared with overflow of sidebar 2. I need sidebar 1 narrower, and main wall propotionally wider.
2. Speed is a major issue with this template. Seems especially the toolbar takes time to load. Guessing it is the toolbar that takes the speed issue with it into the rest of the joomla pages? Load time is severely increased when logged in.
3. Why does Socialize affect the chat bar? Socialize 1 didn't.
Edit: Can I also please know how to show all members as default (in browse) and not only logged in ones?
Sorry for forgetting my original issue in my last post, there was just too much to worry about after upgrade :) So in addition to what I mention in my last post, there is still this:
Issues with elements missing are still there, except for the profile image now showing up in Chrome. Meaning all little icons are missing in Explorer, and the "post something text box" is missing in Opera.
