do not send activation link to email after registration

ISSUE SUMMARY:
Just installed JS, set up cron job as suggested, and after trying to register, I do not receive the activacion link in my email I signed up with hotmail, live, gmail. It is not in my junk mail, I received the notification in JS > Monitor > Members, I can see that I sign up, but as final user i did not get any activation link. I went to System > global configuration > users manager and set new user account activation as self. But still not receiving the activation link, please help!

Please, make sure that your email address defined in Joomla! is right.
Also make sure if your email @live.com is able to send mails from different domains (SPF restrictions).
The best results you may achieve by using email in your site domain and your server SMTP.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
