I massively updated the jomsocial's members, they gave me they birthdays (year and day) but not the year...
So I put in the year "2014" to keep the reference that the people that has "2014" are a fake day...
We are using jomsocial as part of our private network... (intranet)
Some other people has his real birthday year... but for privacy issues... we dont want to show the year... (girls dont like to tell how old are them)
You should edit costumize profile from backend, edit your birthdate field, then find this paramater "Date Format.(PHP - E.g. Y-m-d -> Year-Month-Day)" change to "m-d" or you change to ""d F" for better date format.
thanks.. it works, but I still have a problem
1. if I put this format "d \d\e F" because I want to print "2 de agosto" for example
but see what it prints: (attachment)
2. did you see the language? it prints "August" but in spanish is "Agosto"
Why? if in php the normal funtion takes the parameters like this
echo JHtml::date($phpdate , 'd \d\e F');
1. I am sorry, that paramater cant be working on our setting, because our code avoid any slash tag input, another solution you can hack the file components/com_community/libraries/fields/birthdate.php, find this code :
$ret = $date->format($format);
replace to :
$ret = $date->format('d \d\e F');
2. For time being you should add the setlocale code
php.net/manual/en/function.setlocale.php
, you can put that setlocale code on this file components/com_community/libraries/fields/birthdate.php
I am not sure that hack will be 100% working, since not tested yet..but at least you can try it.
I prefer to not to do the hack that you explain in the first point... I will not put the word "de" but still need to translate the month...
I tried to to what you told me for the second one and is not working... (screenshot)
I think for a future update, you should implement something like joomla does:
JHtml::date($phpdate , 'j \d\e F')
I tried with:
setlocale(LC_TIME, 'es_ES');
and
setlocale(LC_TIME, 'Spanish_Colombia');
I change in the backend custom profile fileds for the php format "m-d" but after that when I tried to edit a member birthday the system was not saving that information
I see, I think that feature is not working for now.. if you wanna make it I suggest you post to our uservoices, and we will set this feature as improvement if our project owner accepted it
