ISSUE SUMMARY:

I would like to shorten the registration process by not having the avatar upload step
how is this possible? thanks

Hi, Dave.

Well, nearly everything could be done in JomSocial as this is open source. But this one will be quite extensive and one need to have skills to do that. Unfortunately this will be a core hack. Core hacks are not recommended nor supported as they may not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that will be not supported. Users with core files hack refuse to upgrade their installation to keep those hacks and they are stuck with outdated and unsupported versions.

If you insist, you may hire professional developer who will do customization for you: www.jomsocial.com/jomsocial-developers

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi, thanks for the reply - I've just found this page, www.jomsocial.com/forum/design-and-custo...-during-registration is this same thing not possible with JS 4?

I confirm this works in JS 4

components/com_community/controllers/register.php

change
$mainframe->redirect(CRoute::_('index.php?option=com_community&view=register&task=registerAvatar', false));
to
$mainframe->redirect(CRoute::_('index.php?option=com_community&view=register&task=registerSucess', false));

works perfectly!
