ISSUE SUMMARY: I tried to change the "Get Connected" language on the Jom Social Frontpage.
I found the en-GB.com_community.ini file and adjusted the language. When I reupload the file it scrambles the language (Please see screen shot)

Hi Deneen,

that because that edited language file containing "illegal" character, thats why got scrambles.
here the steps the proper way for to do language changes:
1. goto joomla backend > extensions > language manager > overrides > new
2. search for this value:

Get Connected

3. click COM_COMMUNITY_GET_CONNECTED_TITLE at search result to edit it
4. change the text

Done :)

with this, at upgrade process the language changes will stay.

I got the first line changed. I need to change the second line of copy:
from
Come and join our community. Expand your network and get to know new people!
to
A networking platform exclusively for members of the Women's Luxury Guild. Our World, Your Network, Endless Possibilities.

I tried the method you explained below and it's still not changed.

Please advise!
