ISSUE SUMMARY:

After searching the forums I have come to the conclusion that short of making hacks to the core files, you guys did not set it up for us to create our own email titles even through we are able to edit the message itself. This is very limiting in that if I change an email message from {actor} liked your stream post. to {actor} like one of your wall items , the title still shows {actor} liked your stream.

If you guys have it set to pull the title from the language file, would it be safe to assume that title would be pulled from :Hi {target},\n\n{actor} liked your stream item.\n\nYou can view your stream at:\n\n\n<a href='{url}'>{url}</a>\n\n\nHave a nice day!

thus if the only hard edit i did was on the language file itself, would that work for now?

Hi, Adam.

Actually you can change email titles and you don't have to fiddle with any file. Just use Joomla! language override:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Changin...gle_Sentence_or_Word

For example:

COM_COMMUNITY_FRIEND_WALL_POST = {actor} wrote on your profile {stream}.

You may change it as you want but if you want to have dynamical elements that displays user name {actor} just use a placeholders...

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Michal,

I am very familiar with the language manager, I have over 600 overrides there so far site-wide. The example you gave is for the body of the email which I have already changed. How do I change the Title of the email?
Thanks,
Adam

Hi, Adam.

That constant is correct. Please, take a look:

prntscr.com/7exbfv - this is language override
prntscr.com/7exbvo - this are emails I received
prntscr.com/7exc5u - this is email itself

Michal,

Ahhhh... I see said the blind man! I was so focused on the COM_COMMUNITY_EMAIL strings that I didn't notice the title of the emails are a combination of the site action string and the email placeholder right?
