ISSUE SUMMARY:
1) in the Uk people write the address format with their Apartment as the first line of their address eg
Apt 1, 196 Fulham Palace Rd, London W6
[Also, most people in the UK call their apartment a 'Flat' eg 'Flat 1' (and they put that in the first line of the address)]
We have discovered that if the user puts 'Apt' or 'Flat' at the start of the address, the address is not recognised….
We are using Hello Maps. They tell us the Geolocation is managed directly by JomSocial - HelloMaps takes coordinates generated from the table of JomSocial.
I have tested on UK Google Maps (
www.google.co.uk/maps/
), and Google does correctly position addresses with Flat or Apartment in the first line.
Therefore please can you tell us how we can get Jomsocial to generate correct co-ordinates for all UK address formats?
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Put Flat 1 in front of a UK address, eg above
2 Look on maps to see location (or HelloMaps)
3
4
5
RESULT The address is not marked on HelloMaps at all
EXPECTED RESULT - addresses with apartments, flats, building names should show on the map and be correctly positioned!

Hi Susan,
I confirmed, this is a bug for "two words" country name. here the temporary fix:
edit [joomla root]/components/com_community/models/profile.php around line 512, find this code
$address = str_replace('COM_COMMUNITY_LANG_NAME_', '', $user->getAddress());$address = str_replace('UNITEDKINGDOM', 'UNITED KINGDOM', str_replace('COM_COMMUNITY_LANG_NAME_', '', $user->getAddress()));
To clarify, will this fix the issue of putting Flat/Apartment/Building name before the street name, so that these addresses will shown on the Map?
Thanks a lot,
Hi Susan,
the issue only happing with the countries name that containing "two words". e.g: United Kingdom, that country name always become as "one word" (unitedkingdom).
