Hi Gina,
yeah it will work, JS version 4 is mobile design approach, so it will work on every layout. Please you try upgrade it.
thank you
Dimas,
Have you been able to fix the toolbar yet?
I've been investigating the problem and cannot figure out how to fix it without completely removing the db and dir and re-installing everything from scratch ... which i would prefer not to do ...
Any solutions to my toolbar problem yet?
i am beyond frustrated now, with both JS functionality and JS's "tech support" response time ...
While waiting for a resolution from tech support, i completely removed JS from the directory as well as removing the sql db ...
this DID NOT restore the toolbar, but it broke my custom color scheme ... :( :( :(
So, now what????
I upgraded to 4.0.5 without success, then I completely removed the sql db, the entire JS directory contents, purged the cache before reinstalling and none of this has fixed the broken toolbar ...
What do I do now ????
Hi, Gina.
We can't fix your template or make it compatible with JomSocial 4 as this is beyond our technical support.
Please, contact with template developer ans ask them to help you fix that issue or overcome that limitation.
As for deleted JomSocial toolbar menu items. You may recreate them manually in this structure:
Profile
|— Change Profile Picture
|— Change Profile Video
|— Edit Profile
|— Edit Details
|— Privacy
|— Preferences
|— Customize My Page
Friends
|— Show All
|— Search
|— Advanced Search
|— Invite Friends
|— Request Sent
|— Pending my approval

Just browse to JomScoial menu, click create new item choose as menu item type community and element that corresponds with item title. That's really easy, please, try it.
i didnt ask you to fix my template ...
I'm asking that you instruct me how to fix the JS toolbar without completely deleting and reinstalling my entire site, which is where I'm at right now ...
As I said previously, I have upgraded to JS4 as instructed, which did not fix the problem, then I removed the sql db and entire JS directory, and reinstalled, which did not work .....
So my only option at this point, without additional tech support from JS, is to completely delete my site and reinstall everything from scratch ....
:(
When I have attempted, many times, to recreate the JS menu items, the "type" selected by JS does not correspond to what I choose ... for example, when I choose "Profile", the item selected by JS is "Notifications" and I am unable to choose the proper item ...
I just installed Joomla 3.4.1 and JomSocial 3.2.1.6 on a new subdomain with a new sql db/user for testing and cloning purposes...
The installation worked flawlessly and the JS toolbar appears and works correctly ...
However, creating new JS menu items still do not work properly ... for example, creating a new "Profile" menu item type by choosing "Profile" always results in "Edit my page" being selected instead of "My Profile" as it should ...
Suggestions ?
Regarding my primary site, i do not see any other resolution but to delete the entire domain and reinstall ... unless you have a better suggestion???
So I just upgraded my new subdomain test site to JS 4.0.5 and tried creating a new menu item, with similar results ...
This time, with 4.0.5 installed, when I choose the menu item type "Profile", the menu item type selected by JS is "Notifications" ... and I am not able to select the profile item no matter how many times I select it...
Suggestions??
Hi, Gina.
My instructions to recreate JomSocial toolbar menu items are 100%. Just ignore menu item type title displayed after you choose correct type from the list. We are aware of titles issue. Just for now, please ignore it.
Just keep going recreating menu items.
thank you for your response.
I successfully recreated the JS toolbar menu items on my primary site as you suggested.
Even though the "menu item type" was wrong each time I chose the item, it appears the item linked in the toolbar is the correct menu item despite the erroneous menu type being shown.
I'm assuming the JS tech team are working on a fix for this little annoying bug ...
