ISSUE SUMMARY:
When some of the users set high number of activities to be loaded in their profile settings (in our example set to 500) then the profile page crushes (it is loading forever and it is distorded).

The crush only happens when user is viewing his profile. When some other user tries to view it - it looks ok but it takes very long to load (1-2 minutes)

This issue can not be replicated with a new profile because there are no posts at all or they are few. But with an old profile with a lot of posts in it.

I think the input value for the number of activities should be limited or the text field be replaced with dropdown combo maybe. So this way user will not be able to set this value to unreasonably high value.

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 go to profile settings
2 set value 500 for number of activities
3 view your own profile

your server can't load the huge data list of stream 500 items, please you set lower than it, I suggest you set it < 25, for making your speed better.

I'm aware that the server can't load such huge amount of data. The problem is that some of the other users may enter high value - that's why I'm suggesting that this field should be limited somehow... I will try put limit with javascript on my own in the template file...

I have found a solution by my self.

I've edited the "profile.preferences.php" in my theme on line 53 and changed maxlength to 2. So now users can set max 99 activities. My opinion is that this should be default value in jomsocial template also.
