ISSUE SUMMARY:
I run a private network where only logged in users can see status posts (or any jomsocial content). I want to remove the "Public - can be seen by everyone" option when creating a status update (and pretty much everywhere else such as album privacy) so that member can be assured that their posts are not being seen by the general public. The old hack of changing the privacy.php file and removing the "$access[ 'public' ] = true;" line no longer works.
I've also tried removing it from the stream.selectprivacy.js but that does not seem to have any effect either.
privacies = [
// [ 'public', 10, window.joms_lang.COM_COMMUNITY_PRIVACY_PUBLIC, 'earth' ],
[ 'site_members', 20, window.joms_lang.COM_COMMUNITY_PRIVACY_SITE_MEMBERS, 'users' ],
[ 'friends', 30, window.joms_lang.COM_COMMUNITY_PRIVACY_FRIENDS, 'user' ],
[ 'me', 40, window.joms_lang.COM_COMMUNITY_PRIVACY_ME, 'lock' ]
];
How can I remove the public option from the privacy drop down lists?
For anyone else attempting to do this, there are two items to change:
1) Add the CSS that Albertus provided to your custom css file:
.joms-postbox-dropdown.privacy-dropdown li:nth-child(1) {
display: none;
}
This will remove the public option from the stream postings.
2) In /components/com_community/libraries/privacy.php, remove the line "$access[ 'public' ] = true;"
This will remove the public option from create photo album and the video upload pages.
