Add a link in a Discussion - email notification truncates the link = error
ISSUE SUMMARY:
I create a Discussion in a group.
I add a link to a different page on the site (another group page) using the link button.
I also add the link by just pasting it it in.
When the email notification arrives, if you click on either link they don't work as they have both been truncated by the system, losing the the first part of the web address (the site address)
However the web full address shows in the email.
But if you copy and paste the link the full link is there.
But if you try to click on the link directly from gmail it opens a truncated version of the link.
Why is this happening? Obviously we need users to be able to put links in Discussions.
If you give me an email address I can forward you the email if you can't replicate this.
Thanks
BROWSER Same happens on Google Chrome and on Safari. We have not upgraded to JS 4.
seem there is a bug. but please forward that notification email to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
I need to make sure about it first.
sorry for late respond.
I cant replicate this issue, here the steps:
1. goto my groups
2. open any public group
3. create new discussion. I put a link at text at content
4. click hyperlink icon, and put a link at value (full URL)
5. execute cronjob
the URL at email content same like expected (not truncated). maybe I missing something here, please elaborate more.
