Upload images as a Field type in customizing profile
I am having problems adjusting the Custom Profile to my needs, in Jomsocial.
I want a user to be able to upload some photos in the registration form (or in about me section), in the specific places. Let's say I want the user to be able to upload photos of the fishes he caught, and their weights. Those photos and weights should be seen in his profile.
So, basically I need a NEW FIELD TYPE to be something like UPLOAD IMAGE FORM.
Is that possible?
You should post here:
uservoice.jomsocial.com/forums/101561-feature-request
But I'm not sure if this would be accepted as profile fields are used to describe user... or profile. For photos it was meant "Photos" feature You have all there albums, photos and description... also photos could be commented while profile felds not.
So you should rethink your approach. you have possible solutions:
1. Post a feature request here:
uservoice.jomsocial.com/forums/101561-feature-request
2. Hire a developer to develop a such feature for you:
www.jomsocial.com/jomsocial-developers
3. Think about 3rd party extension that is dedicated for trophies/achievements and sharing them (integration with JS maybe?)
Search JED:
extensions.joomla.org/
or ask on Joomla! forum.. or consider to hire developer to build such an extension for you.
4. Rethink your approach and try to use existing JomSocial features...
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
