Since upgrading from Jomsocial 3 to 4 on my dev site the "more" button at the bottom of the stream only works intermittently (for guests and users)
Refresh jomsocial page and try clicking on the More button. Refrsh try again a few more times.
It only loads more activities sometimes.
I have tested in Firefox only v37.0.1
I have tried in firefox, chrome and IE, and it does the same in all.
I've just tested on another machine. I tried refreshing 3 times and the activity feed "more" button did nothing.
Not sure how else to elaborate it is a very straight forward issue.
you don't even need to login. Stream is visible to guests. But for me the problem occurs with my login and when I am a guest.
I've just tried on a third machine. After the third refresh, the more button did not work.
It is intermittent. Sometimes I have to load 10 tabs in my browser and in only one of them the more button does not work.
I have the same issue with all browsers on all machines.
Are you opening the page up in enough tabs? more than 10?
I only have windows 7 and windows 8 to test on.
But it is happening on all the machines with any browser.
Have you tested on Windows 7 or 8?
I'm not sure what you mean by "Browser exhaustion"
But I don't have this issue with my old Jomsocial 3.2.1.6
Hi, Justin.
I'm sorry but I also can't replicate this on my Linux and Windows 7.
I agree with Albertus that it may be resource exhaustion. Let me explain.
Browser is an application that runs in certain environment created by operating system and has allocated system resources like operational memory.
Each script on page needs resources to be executed, the more scripts and pages to be rendered the more resources browser need. If you open MANY tabs MANY scripts will be executed on the same time and MANY pages needs to be rendered.
Additionally on your site your site you have extension called com_kide and every 7-8 seconds it runs bundle script. It you have e.g 20 tabs in each one script runs at the same time:
prntscr.com/6wrhnm
. That consumes a lot of resources and your browser may start to response slow.
Take a look only few tabs in FireFox consumes about 17% of my CPU power:
prntscr.com/6wri03
So this is possible cause of your issue. How does it behaves on one tab only?
I just opened the page once now and the "more" button does nothing when I click on it.
I refreshed and then it worked again. Another 6 refreshes in one tab and then it didn't work again.
I have tried on 5 different machines and it does this on all of them.
Hi, Justin.
Ok, please, disable com_kide extension and try again.
