STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1. Set Homepage to Jomsocial Community
2. Set up a profile and enter "page1" as custom profile url
3. Set up a menu entry to one of your pages and set SEF url to "page1"
4. Try to enter page via menu

Hi, Chris.

This is not a bug... if you create menu item with alias "page1" and Joomla! SEF will be enabled... then it will redirect to profile not page that was set up in menu item. Reason is obvious: you called profile URL not a page URL as profile has this URL on the first place. Just use different menu item alias as the one "profile1" is already in use.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michal,

thank you for your quick response.
That's the cause, I want to disable custom profile urls, since otherways I can't control what the users will use as a custom profile urls.
Even if I set up my page to "page2" now since "page1" is already taken, who says one user won't take "page2" as well ?
To stop this, I just want to disable custom profile urls.
Is there a way to do it ?
A configuration or a custom code solution ?

Thank you very much !

Hi, Chris.

There is no backend option to disable it... except to disable SEF in Joomla!
So you need to hack template file.
Copy this file:

ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/profile.preferences.php

to:

ROOT/templates/your-template/html/com_community/layouts (if you don't have any of those folders, feel free to create them)

Then edit file and replace this (lines 84-92)

<?php  if ( $jConfig->get('sef') ) { ?>

            <div class="joms-form__group">
                <span><?php echo JText::_('COM_COMMUNITY_YOUR_PROFILE_URL'); ?></span>
                <?php echo JText::sprintf('COM_COMMUNITY_YOUR_CURRENT_PROFILE_URL', $prefixURL); ?>
            </div>

            <?php } ?>

With this;
<?php  /*if ( $jConfig->get('sef') ) { ?>

            <div class="joms-form__group">
                <span><?php echo JText::_('COM_COMMUNITY_YOUR_PROFILE_URL'); ?></span>
                <?php echo JText::sprintf('COM_COMMUNITY_YOUR_CURRENT_PROFILE_URL', $prefixURL); ?>
            </div>

            <?php } */?>

Now that option should be gone.
