avatars can not be uploaded on registration

I read through the forums and tried changing the default menu item to not go to Jomsocial home as the default, I've trashed and cleared links that go to Jomsocial in the main menu except for Events, those are supposed to be publicly viewable and I'm hoping that doesn't mess things up.

I'm using socialize 2.0 with JS 4.0.1 on Joomla 3.4 with Multiple Profiles enabled.

Am I setting something up incorrectly?

ISSUE SUMMARY:
During the registration process, the avatar upload button does nothing - no window opens or anything. You can complete the registration and you can edit the avatar and upload one after registering though.

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 click register at socialarchitect.com in the Jomsocial welcome image
2 fill in registration fields - click upload avatar

RESULT
nothing happens

EXPECTED RESULT
upload window to open

Please, disable CometChat and Recommended Friends... then try again.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

I disabled both and tried registering a new member and there was no change.

Hi,

I am not sure you hack/override the template code or maybe caused by the 3rd party plugin, because the jomsocial code already changed and I am not sure where its coming from.. look at this screenshoot, the original code is avatar.php www.dropbox.com/s/tpa721i2e4mqz0t/Screen...%2015.12.49.png?dl=0

please check it I just fix it by removing the "thumbnails" code, I think that code be replaced by another 3rd party plugin

Hi Dimas

Thanks! I didn't do any hacks at all, it was my standard joomla installation and I upgraded Jomsocial and added socialize template.

The other things I have are cometchat platinum, socialads, jticketing and jgive from techjoomla, and alphauserpoints. I used to have multi profiles XIPT but they don't work with this version - maybe that one left some issues?

I really appreciate your help.
