Dear Support-team,

As you might know, i have a multi-langual website. My members are mainly Dutch but i get more and more foreign members. The thing is... when the foreign (English speaking) members see mainly Dutch text, the foreign members are not intrested anymore. Some-one suggested a build in translator, but i feel that 2 websites with same look and feel but language separated would work better.

However.... is it possible to share the database for its members and personal messaging and but that the rest is separated?

Thank you in advance

Hi lefemme,

sharing portions of a database across mutiple sites i would think is not a good idea and the work involved in updates and maintenance would be huge. certainly outside the scope of support here. I would think the best option would be to discuss this with a database administrator or server admin

Is there a reason why you cannot do a language detect from the browser then present the language from the browser locale, while it may not be 100% actuate all the time it would be a lot better than splitting a database.
