Hi, when i open jomsocial frontpage(test.deadsocial.org) page title has change after full load page. In begin on title I see new Notifications Count number.
Example:
<title>(1) Welcome to ... </title>
This number is add when i create system messages notification. I do not want to be seen by all.
This is a very large problem, because don't think guest users must see system notifications
Hi, Norris.
This is a core feature, if you want to change it, you'll need... a core hack.
Core hacks are not recommended nor supported as they may not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that will be not supported. Users with core files hack refuse to upgrade their installation to keep those hacks and they are stuck with outdated and unsupported versions.
This is not core feature, this is a bug. Please tell me how to fix him.
I think for two solution, please tell me if is possible :
First i change my notification cmd. But i don't see possible notification cmd types. On your documentation i found only system message. Please tell me where to found possible cmd types.
Second i create regex whit javascript, after load page, remove char before first space in title.
Please tell me how to fix this.
Hi, Norris.
No, this is a feature introduced in JomSocial 3.2.1.5.
Hi, Norris.
It doesn't influence SEO in any way as this number shows number of new notifications. They are displayed only for LOGGED IN MEMBER.
SEO apply only to bots/spiders and they will NEVER log in so they will NEVER see that number in title.
So this feature is irrelevant for your site SEO.
This way of showing notifications is used on many sites and many apps.
This notification view only guest user. I told you for this on first post.
This count view only guests users.
Please open
test.deadsocial.org/
to see this
Hi, Norris.
With all the respect but you didn't mentioned it happens for guests.
I saw this issue on your site now.
But I cant run troubleshoots test as I get: DirectoryIterator::__construct(/home/deadtest/public_html/cgi-bin/.cgi_wrapper): failed to open dir: Permission denied
Could you check if this also happens with Joomla default template like "Protostar"?
Try that and let me know how you get on.
Edit;
Number is not displayed in your site code:
prntscr.com/6733q7
prntscr.com/6733ua
So robots shouldn't see it anyway.
Displaying that number for guest is not default behavior and also not a bug but rather your site specific issue.
No one reported it yes and you're using JomSocial 3.2.1.4 (current one is 3.2.1.6)
Ok i found where is the problem and fixed.
On components/com_community/controllers/activites.php in line 43 code like this :
$response = array(
'newEventInviteCount' => $toolbar->getTotalNotifications('events' ),
'newFriendInviteCount' => $toolbar->getTotalNotifications('friends' ),
'newGroupInviteCount' => $toolbar->getTotalNotifications( 'groups' ),
'newNotificationCount' => $notifModel->getNotificationCount($my->id,'0',$myParams->get('lastnotificationlist','')),
'newMessageCount' => $toolbar->getTotalNotifications( 'inbox' ),
); if($my->id > 0){
$response = array(
'newEventInviteCount' => $toolbar->getTotalNotifications('events' ),
'newFriendInviteCount' => $toolbar->getTotalNotifications('friends' ),
'newGroupInviteCount' => $toolbar->getTotalNotifications( 'groups' ),
'newNotificationCount' => $notifModel->getNotificationCount($my->id,'0',$myParams->get('lastnotificationlist','')),
'newMessageCount' => $toolbar->getTotalNotifications( 'inbox' ),
);
}else{
$response = array(
'newEventInviteCount' => 0,
'newFriendInviteCount' => 0,
'newGroupInviteCount' => 0,
'newNotificationCount' => 0,
'newMessageCount' => 0,
);
