Global Notification - Hide private message alert

Hi

When a user receives a private message it generates two notifications, one as a global and one as a message

Is it possible to just have the one notification show as a message and not as a global notification?

Yes, browse to Backend -> Component s-> JomSocial -> Configuration -> Privacy and at right you have column with notifications and emails settings.

Look for private message rule and disable sending notification for it. Then save. Scroll to very bottom and click button to reset all users setting.

The same could be done by every each particular user. In Profile -> Privacy -> Emails & Notifications.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

It seems odd though, for example it aso has an option for "friend request" site notification however that only ever shows with the friend request notification and not global

I assumed they would both have the same configuration considering they both have separate notification alerts.
