How can I show the activities inserted into groups only at user joined and not at all users?
Thank you.

Hi.

Oh, that's easy :)

Copy this file:

ROOT/components/com_community/templates/default/groups.viewgroup.php

to:

ROOT/templates/your-template/html/com_community (if you don't have "html" or "com_community" folders, feel free to create them)

And replace this code (line 280):

<?php echo $streamHTML; ?>

with this:
<?php if($isMember) { ?>
 <?php echo $streamHTML; ?>
 <?php } ?>

From now on, only members will be able to see activity stream.

Note that after you join a group, you'll have to reload page to see activity stream (as group join is ajax action and stream code needs to be loaded and parsed as HTML).

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Yes thank you it works in the group page.
But in frontpage (/community) remains the problem.
Also not members group can see the activity published into groups :(

Hi.

Then disable user points rule: Post Group Comment and activities should be not posted on main activity stream anymore.

But in this way i disable it for all users while I would like to disable front page view only for not members grops.
Indeed I would like to show, also in front-page, the activity but also for members of the several groups, while not members will not see anything.
Thank you

Hi.

Ok, then all your groups should be private... my previous hack wouldn't be needed.

It doesn't work.
I change all my groups in private (and I'm not joined) but on homepage (community frontpage) I see always the status/activity published in that groups :(

Hi.

Please, edit your first post and add your site credentials.
I need to test it.
On my test site no status posts from private groups are displayed for non-group members on main activity stream. And this should be default behavior.
