No multilingual support for Multiprofile Names ?

There is a way to create multilingual names for the different profiles in the Multiprofile mode?

I tried the same method of the Custom fields (overriding strings), but without success.

It's VERY IMPORTANT as the Field names, to have multilingual names for the Profiles Types, otherwise the multilingual support is not fully implemented for JOMSOCIAL.

If there isn't a trick or workaround, could you please put this as request, and also explain what I need to change in the code, to fix this?

Paulo Vaz

Hi Paulo,

here the steps to achieve that documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Customizing_Template :
1. copy /components/com_community/templates/default/profile.edit.php to /templates/socialize/html/com_community/profile.edit.php, and changing this code (line 24), from

<?php echo JText::sprintf('COM_COMMUNITY_CURRENT_PROFILE_TYPE' , $multiprofile->name );?>
to
<?php echo JText::sprintf('COM_COMMUNITY_CURRENT_PROFILE_TYPE' , JText::_($multiprofile->name) );?>

2. copy /components/com_community/templates/default/facebook.newuserform.php to /templates/socialize/html/com_community/facebook.newuserform.php, and changing this code (line 38 & 52), from
<?php echo $profile->name;?>

<?php echo $profile->description;?>
to
<?php echo JText::_($profile->name);?>

<?php echo JText::_($profile->description);?>

3. copy /components/com_community/templates/default/register.profiletype.php to /templates/socialize/html/com_community/register.profiletype.php, and changing this code (line 23 & 30), from
<strong class="bold"><?php echo $profile->name;?></strong>

<?php echo $profile->description;?>
to
<strong class="bold"><?php echo JText::_($profile->name);?></strong>

<?php echo JText::_($profile->description);?>

after that you can use same method of the Custom fields

Hi Albertus,

Thanks for the help with the hacks, but something is happening with the site that makes this Languages Constants not work properly.

The funny thing is that for my native language the code works like a charm, but in english don't, and I did all the changes for both languages.

First, look my Language Constant files that I put in the "ROOT\language\overrrides" (and I use to translate Customized Fields and other elements). The files are "en-GB.overrride.ini" and "pt-BR.override.ini". In both files the Language Constants are named as COM_COMMUNITY_MP_XXXX:

english:

portuguese:

Attachment ScreenShot2015-01-04at10.26.37PM.png not found

Now look the results in the live site:

English (with problems):

Attachment ScreenShot2015-01-04at10.15.25PM.png not found

Portuguese (overrride ok)

Attachment ScreenShot2015-01-04at10.30.43PM.png not found

I have no idea why the same code can work in one language, but don't for another.

Please advise and thanks in advance.

Regards,

Paulo Vaz.

Albertus,

I found the problem after your review request on the English Language Constant Files!

There is a missing " at the end of one line, that makes all this confusion!

Thank you very much for the assistance!

After the hack, all the problems are solved.

Now, I'm looking (in another post) to get the same hack for Groups Names in multiple languages, let's check if I can ger answer.

Regards,

Paulo Vaz
