It returns a user to a page with a friendly error, however; I would rather it just redirect to the home page without displaying any errors.

You posted in wrong category so I can't see details of your system.
You'd like to change core feature. If user or member is not allowed to see other member profile - notice (error) should be displayed.
If no notice will be visible... then users/members may think that there is error in the system as they ware redirected unwillingly to the frontpage.

And start to ask why some profiles are visible and in some cases they are redirected....

Okay, so could we place a login their and somewhat of a more friendly looking error.. where can I study to be able to create a module position in Jom Social for that page, so we can edit and add stuff?

Could you maybe tell me how we can show the profile but say this profile is private?
