Hi, I was just wondering if there was a setting/way to display the email that is collected during the sign up process to be displayed in the users' profile in the About Me section? When I create an email field in the custom profile it doesn't update the email address from sign up.

you must make override for profile.about.php

and must use Joomla library:
docs.joomla.org/JFactory/getUser

here the changes:
1. override profile.about.php, by copying /components/com_community/templates/default/ to /templates/yoo_moreno/html/com_community
2. at line 18 I added

$email = true;

<?php if ($email == true) { ?>
    <li>

        <div class="cField-Content"><?php echo($profile['email']);?></div>
    </li>
<?php } $email = false;?>

Hi -- looks like the "email" used at login is still not showing for some members, but it does show for others... any ideas what's causing this? We'd like to have the Email field appear for everyone.

Also a 2nd question -- how can we also show "Profile Type" under about me?

that because not all users put basic information. you must move the code to other lines.
about profile type. by default jomsocial already provide it at about me

Sorry, not following. The email is captured when they register -- that's the one that I want to make visible on all profile types.

Can you explain again what's missing / steps to have it shown on all profiles in the "about me" section by default.
