I've found a few issues with the default template and other areas:

1. The avatar images in the activity stream are missing ALT tags. This causes W3C validation errors.
2. Using <i> in the activity stream is not recommended and deprecated (like <i class="joms-icon-thumbnail joms-icon-calendar-empty"></i>)
3. Most image elements in the template files are self-terminating. This causes W3C validation errors.

Can these be fixed in the next release?

Hi, Ron.

1. I agree, they lack alt tag.
2. I can't quite agree as this is used not as <i> = <em> but as a pseudo icon tag. Just like Font Awesome uses it: fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/
3.Yes, this is inherited from xhtml and is invalid in HTML5

I'll pass your report to our developers.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
