Jomsocial 2.8.4.2 - Share Box X Status Message

Hi,

When a user posts a message through share box, the message is linked on their profile (Status message).
Is there a way to prevent it? Sometimes the user don't want that message appears as their status message. They just want that the message appears as a share message in the stream.

I'm sorry but JomSocial 2.8.4.2 is out dated and unsupported. In order to receive support, please upgrade your installation to most recent version.

- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michal,

I already explained many times that I cant upgrade my version in this moment. This is planned to happen next year (January).
So until there, I simply haven't any kind of support???

NO, as I said JomSocial 2.8.4.2 is not supported anymore.
It's like you ask Microsoft to support Windows XP just because you still use it.
Application lost support when they grow old. It's the way we need to go if we want any development.

If you need help with unsupported version - you need to hire professional developer.

In JomSocial 3.2.1.5 you can remove status message (actually a stream post) from listings. As far I remember status is displayed in search results, user listings and in Hello Me module. In all those cases it can be removed using override.

Changing system behavior and treating activity posts as statuses will require rebuilding whole stream and also FB features.... so only core files hack... but as you know, we don't support core files hacks.
