I have disable email notification plugin for joomla but we still get emails sent to new users. Is there a way to disable this via plugin or setting with in JS. We have to pre-load 200 users and want to only send one final email with welcome and credentials.—> User - Joomla!
I see lots of people having issues with this feature not working but nothing to clearly described how to stop it...In my cas eit works too good and too perfectly.

You should hack the controller file components/com_community/controllers/register.php, and delete this code :

$mail->sendMail($mailfrom, $fromname, $email, $subject, $message, $sendashtml);

PERFECT!
We commented out for now so we can revert when we go live.
