this is by design. All karma must as activities, because other users must know what other users did.
if you turn off "Photo upload" at karma points, no one users can know if any new uploaded photos. because that reason, Photo upload will not count anymore as karma point (disabled).

I see that Sinisa has answered this on the community, it can be done with a small hack for any of the activities.

How do i know what files to modify you might ask?
Its simple. I created the friend activity and looked into the activities database.
I saw that app parameter is "friends.connect"
I just searched entire com_community directory for this keyword and it throw it to me at multiple pages

You can do the same for any kind of activity and then just remove this
CActivityStream::add($act);
as its the part that actually creates it.

Thanks for your reply. There are many differences between Jomsocial and Easysocial and to be honest we don't try to match or do what they do. Our product has been around for 9 years now and a lot of things have evolved throughout the years. we were around when Facebook something in the future yet to be discovered. What this means is that with a massive user base we don't have the ability to make quick changes to code or sit back and design some of the core functions from scratch in 2014. What this means is that changing core functions needs to be done progressively to minimize impact on user sites. We have some sites running with over half a million users . What also appears to be a small change can have a large knock on effect in other places.

Regardless of all this, I want everyone to be happy, whether it's with some one else s product or ours, i would prefer with ours. But it appears that in your situation it is not meeting your expectations.
