Is there a way to allow users to add their facebook, linkedin and google accounts to their contacts page and have it showed up as icons on their profile sites?

Hi.

Showing s a unactive URLs will be easy - just create a text field in profile. Creating active icons will be much harder and will require core files hacking.

Core hacks are not recommended nor supported as they may not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that will be not supported. Users with core files hack refuse to upgrade their installation to keep those hacks and they are stuck with outdated and unsupported versions.

When you say, create a text field, you mean in the customized profilein JS > Profiles > Customized Profile > New Field?
Is there a specific Field Code that JS has assigned to the different social networks that I should be aware of?

As for now JomSocial has integration with FB... but stil it doesn't displays link or icon that leads to FB profile.
Yes, creating new text field will be easy but as a result will be displayed inactive URL link and not icon. So there isn't a specific field code or field type to achieve what you need.

To implement such a feature you'll need to hack core files.
