Why is the icon for messages an envelope on the menubar, and two speech bubbles on the notifications module?

And why is the icon for Friends 1 'person' on the menu bar, and 2 people with hats on the notifications module?

And why is the Icon for Global Notifications a Globe on the menu bar, and a bell on the notifications module?

We prefer the icons on the menu bar, as they are more modern! Is there a way we change the icons in the notifications module?

Also, is there a way of making the icons in the notifications module larger?

Thank you.

Hi, Susan.

Toolbar: it uses more modern way (it was created not long ago) to display icons: Font Awesome ( fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icons/ ) so in a fact they are fonts and you can easily change them (with different fonts from the same set). Also you can very easy change their size by declaring it in css:

#community-tb-wrap.community-toolbar .navbar .nav > li > a i {
font-size: 2em;
}

Notification module: uses older method (it was created a long time ago) - a sprites image (ROOT/components/com_community/templates/default/images/sprites-toolbar-dark.png). Still you can change them by editing print image. But if you want to make them larger... then it will be a bit complicated as you'll need to declare new height and with, and also create NEW sprite image, with larger icons.

You can override sprint image by coping it to ROOT/templates/yourTemplateName/html/com_community/images
