Use username for profile URL?

Hi,

Currently JomSocial uses real name for profile URL. Is there any way to use username for it?
When I use Vietnamese name for real name, it will cause some strange characters in URL. Ex: hocbinhdan.com/cong-dong/801-nguya-n-hoa-n-long/profile

Yes, you can: Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> Configuration -> Layout -> Display name -> Username: prntscr.com/4j84nl

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hi,

I don't want to change Display Name of User. Please keep using real name for it.
I only want to change the default URL to username.

//Even with change this, the URL still does not change.

Is it possible?

Hi.

This is by design and you can't change that globally. All non-latin characters are removed or changed to latin. You can edit your profile and in preferences change name that is used in profile url: prntscr.com/4j8d14
